I start my new job tomorrow. (Insert freak-out here) and up until recently the living situation was a little up in the air. The first roommate had also promised the room to another friend who was going to be truly homeless. So I understand that situation, but it still sucks.
So last night, with the loving nudge of my boyfriend I texted everyone in my contacts, and I was VERY fortunate to have a place for the month, and then a few minutes ago, as I was typing this, another friend texted me back, with a room to rent.
See, none of this would happen if it wasn't for my loving boyfriend. Actually, it was his suggestion to move to Orange County. I did apply for this job, after months of rejection from the desert. It was all so shocking....but enough of this crap.
Sunday was the last Sunday I am going to John's congregation down in La Quinta. After the service, we went to his parent's house.
I love his mother to death. She's crazy, and loud...a lot like me. Anyways, we had lunch, talked, hung out, and I fell in love with his family His dad is like my uncles. Y'know, the opinionated, borderline racist conspiracy theorist type person. (makes those family dinners just so much more interesting.)
Apparently his family liked me. They fixed my headlights and tires. So very sweet! I was crying as I left their house Sunday night. John didn't believe me, but it's true.
It's strange that these last three months have gone on like this. It's been a crazy whirlwind romance, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Ch-Ch-Changes
Wow, I have so much to update you guys on.
First of all, I suck at writing trip reports right away, and the same is true for chronicling my adventures. So my good readers, I present you the update post.
I'm dating a wonderful guy named John (I'll explain our story later, it's a funny, but long story)
I have decided to move to Orange County....again. (third time's the charm, right?)
I will not be working at Disneyland
I do have a job lined up
I do not have a place to live yet
I think that's it for now.

NaNoWriMo
This is the first year I'm participating in it. I've been writing since I was a teenager, but haven't published anything.
My story so far is a re-boot of an old story i did, it's about the "perfect athlete" and is physical perfection worth it's mental and emotional flaws. We'll see what comes of it, right?

My Second First Date
Think that might be the title of my NaNoWriMo project. It also describes my weekend
Mark (Not his real name) and I have known each other for close to 25 years (Yikes, I've known someone that long!!) and we've been friends for most of that time. We went to Disneyland back in either '95 or '96.It was an okay time, but quickly after that, we had lost contact..
As the years pass, he married some chick, and I had met and married my ex. I had seen him once or twice after finding out he was divorced, but I was still married, so I ignored him. (sad but true)
Fast forward to this past March, or April. I ran into Mark's mom, a woman who adores me (his words, not mine. I'm not that vain.) and I had mentioned that I was now single, that I had filed for divorce, and it was just finalized. He had heard thisconversation and blurted that he was single.
Oh happy day!
I had given his mom my phone number, mainly to contact my mom, and for him to call me, that I was kind of interested. He didn't call, until about a month ago.
When he did call, we talked for over an hour each time. We would talk about our failed marriages, our time together when we were younger, and how much we had in common now. He had invited me out to go dancing on the weekends.I
I took him up on his offer this past weekend since Sunday would have been my 5th wedding anniversary (will be making another blog soon) and I felt like a distraction was in order.
It was nice to be able to dance for two hours, and not have to worry about making an ass out of myself. (Oh, I know I did, but I didn't care!)
One of the funnier moments of the night; my tattoo was showing, and it was something that by now I have forgotten about. he asked what was on my ankle, and I had played coy, and eventually did show him.
After the club closed, he walked me to my car, and we stood there and talked for almost two hours. I had told him most of the lows of my marriage, and what I had been through (lying, cheating, and other bullshit) and it was re-assuring to hear from a complete stranger what's been going on. I didn't even mention what my mom has been doing. He even put his arm around me. (awww)
So, unlike Disneyland, there will be a second date. We're doing dinner soon :)
(sorry if this is a little gibberish-like. I wrote this while half-asleep)

Obligatory Welcome Post Part 2
I guess I should explain myself:
Name: Dawn
Age: 30 (and I'm okay with that)
Occupation(s) : Massage Therapist, Campus Security, Writer, Caregiver
Hobbies: Sports, music, long walks on the beach....Oh wait...wrong page...thought this was my e-harmony profile....
I live in a small town, and I try to make the best of it. I have a great core group of friends that I hang out with, and have my "adventures" or nights of doing dumb things, only to piece them together the next day.
I have my extended friends in LA, and OC, and some in other states. Our adventures aren't as frequent, but damn, are they memorable.
Any other questions, concerns, complaints, or requests for dates, feel free to comment. (except for dates...I'm really not into internet dating....)

Obligatory Welcome Post
Yes I created my own blog, which to my closest might think is hypocritical, since this exact format was a factor in ending my marriage. (those who know the full story know it's more than that. One day, I'll tell it.) I felt the need to be able to post my thoughts and adventures no matter how random without having to sign up for a live journal, or other account like that.
It's called Adventures of a True Blonde because I am a Blonde...a Dishwater blonde, but blonde nonetheless.
Expect a lot of rants, adventures, and random thoughts...I have a lot of them, so you've been warned!
