Bucket List....Things I've done

Wanted to get all three posts out as soon as I could.

Kissed a stranger at Midnight on New Year's

I swear all the good things happen at Disneyland too.

It was my first New Year's at the mouse house, and it was also Y2K, so it was very exciting. I was working in the Candy Palace with an awesome lead, and cast.  it was 11:58 and the store was empty.  Julia, the awesome lead, let us out to watch the fireworks, and because the store was a ghost town.

At the stroke of Midnight, this guy Rodney and I kissed. It was on the lips, and it was also very taboo, since public displays of affection are a big no-no for Cast Members.  When the hoopla was over, we all walked back into the store, and worked the remainder of our shifts (2am for him, 3 am for me. the park closed at 3:30 am.)

The didn't see much of him again, and it was probably better that way. I caught his cold, and it turned into a nasty case of bronchitis.

Got married

So much fun, I did it twice!

The first marriage; I can admit now was a big mistake.  I was 25, and I was in a really bad place.  Steph and I got into a major fight, and the guy was there, and it was convenient.  I really did love him, or at least I think I did.  After the first few months back east, it was decided to move back to Cali, and that's when things really went downhill. Nearly four years and a nervous breakdown later, I filed for divorce.

John and I are a different story.  We dated for a while, and we knew each other for more than a week.  The wedding was still small, but it was beautiful, and I love him so much.

Appeared on TV

This was very recently.  I am working with a mobile massage company.  We had the contract for the Humana Challenge, and were set up at a tent doing chair massage. The Golf Channel sent a reporter to cover this event, and well, my co-worker and I were on TV.

I'm sure there are more. I just want to go out and enjoy life for a little bit...So, I'll be updating this post later.  In the mean time, think about those things you want to do before you kick the bucket....

Bucket List Part 2

It seems a lot of my Bucket List is Disneyland related.  I never realized that until now.  Yikes.  Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE that place....so for this post, I'll try to keep it Disney-free.

Rent a suite for a concert/sporting event.

I'm claustrophobic, and hate hate crowds.  I haven't been to an actual hockey game since 2008, partially due to finances, but also because I hate being in a crowded arena, sitting next to some loud a-hole spilling beer on me.

Karaoke...at the House of Blues

Downtown Disney doesn't count!!!  They used to have karaoke on certain nights in the restaurant portion and I so wanted to get up there and belt one out.  I had some ideas about songs, but I never had the backbone to do it.  Maybe another time.

Publish my stories

I've been told more than once I should write a novel.  I have been writing since I was a teenager. I was writing things from a fictionalized account of an ex boyfriend who wouldn't leave me alone, to a series Stephanie and I were working on about two Orange County girls who lead an adventurous life. I have even given thought to writing my memoirs.  Thanks to self-publishing, I probably could do it, and one day I might.  I would LOVE for one of them to be picked up by a major publisher though.

Buy a house

I want to set roots somewhere, and having a house is one of those things that means I have my own place in the sun. Somewhere that's mine, and mine only.   One day....once my credit is up to par.

Finish College

This one seems less likely every semester...but I want to go back, and get my bachelor's degree. I had changed majors twice, and I still am not 100% sure what I want it to be. I think it will be Kinesiology; the study of muscles, or Athletic Training; what I wanted to do when I was 16.

Bucket List

First of all, holy crap. It's been a while since I was on here. So much to tell you....in another post.
My post today was to discuss The Bucket List.  Not the movie, but what is actually on your Bucket List.  What you want to do before you die.
I wrote a list of things I  had wanted to do by the time I was 30.  I had only accomplished a  few of the items on my list, so I decided to turn it into my Bucket List.  I threw the list out on accident, so I'm gonna try and go over these by memory....or if they did happen, and there's a story to that, I'll try and tell it.

Run a Marathon

Yeah, that will probably never happen, but I wanted to get into good enough shape to run a marathon.  Disney has half marathons that they run in the parks, and it would be something fun, and even an excuse to try and do one at Disney World.

Stay at the Grand Californian

It used to be stay in the El Capitan Suite, at the grand.... but I found out that the room is mainly a parlor, and doesn't really have much sleeping space, but would make a good party room.
The Grand is a beautiful hotel, and the only Disneyland hotel I haven't stayed at. It's also the most expensive. One can hope.

Eat at Club 33

This one also didn't happen, but it does have a funny story attached to it.

My favorite land to work in, and even be in as a guest is New Orleans Square. The land is laid out into a series of doors and hallways. One wrong turn, and you ended up in a scene in Pirates.
I was working in a Christmas store, which had a stockroom upstairs. My lead had sent me to go get some merchandise to fill the shelves. I went up the stairs, and down a hallway. I found the stockroom, and was trying to remember how to get out.

I kept walking down the hallway, and I heard voices. I thought it was maybe some people on their break, it actually turned out to be the Club cast members setting up for the day. I got to sneak into the club, and see the setup for the night. I would love to actually eat at the club, but I'll settle for a good dinner at Steakhouse 55 or Napa Rose.

Blonde to Bridezilla?

As of this posting, we have a very tentative wedding date of August 14. Of course, it's all up in the air, depending on both of our job and living situations.

I moved back with my parents temporarily-permanently. I had quit my job in OC, and left the apartment. Not going into details right now. So, I have started a minor job hunt; nothing too exciting, since we might be moving in two months.

As you can guess, planning this thing has been a problem. I finally got a date out of him, and we had kinda agreed to a package we found online that we liked, albeit on the expensive side. Now, who the hell knows. I have friends and family who want to go, and need to make the proper arrangements. At the very least we are registered here and here.

Gone, but never forgotten

This blog has and will be dedicated to the memory of Stephanie Grav, who passed away back in May. I haven't blogged since her passing, because I had wanted a serious post about our friendship, and putting feelings to the keyboard isn't particularly easy.

Steph and I had our ups and downs, like most friends do. We were roommates, partners in crime (literally) and keepers of special bonds and secrets.

I miss her like crazy. She was the one I could confide in the most, and she was never judgmental, no matter what boneheaded things I had done.

I am the person I am now due largely to her.

Thanks sweetie.

It's a sign!!!!!!!!

The Monte Carlo; the hotel that John wanted to stay at for our wedding/honeymoon (Yes we have discussed this.) is ridiculously cheap on Expedia. The Monaco Suites are only $106 a night!!!!!

It's a sign I tell you!

I'll have more junk as the days go by. I discovered the exercise room has wifi!!!!

*evil snark.*

I'm not even supposed to be here today....

Still on the hunt for the bigger and better.

Looking for a place that John and I will both like is beyond frustrating. we found a great place in Irvine; the rent is on the high side, but the features, and the ammenities outweigh the high rent, and the boonie location (I swear it's out in the middle of nowhere)

Work has been good, it was crazy slow last week. I hope it picks up soon. I kinda need the money to live.

other than that, I guess no news is good news, right?
